Ms. G. is a single mother of two boys. She was laid off from her previous employer because the company moved production to another country. She needed to find work quickly, and was willing to try a new career if it meant better employability and more stability than the manufacturing industry.
Ms. G enrolled at the Hub Cities WorkSource Center, and was able to obtain training as a dental assistant through California Employment Development Department’s Trade Adjustment Assistance program. Hub Cities also provided her with transportation assistance while she completed the program.

Soon after graduating at the top of her class, Ms. G was offered a position as a dental assistant. She is now able to support her family financially is on a new career path with more flexibility and stability than before.
